It’s a cold colour, but people are drawn to it because it’s not black, but it’s the next best thing to black because it’s still dark. ![]() It’s definitely a colour because there are a lot of garments that use it. What we call colour is something that’s perceived by the mind Ottawa designer Frank Sukhoo knows it’s real, because it’s hanging right there in his showroom, and it has an individual character: deep, rich and dramatic. They even shift from one country to another, changing with the eye of the beholder. Rather than a fixed number of absolute colours, “there’s potentially an unbounded number” of things we can call colours - fuchsia and vermilion and ochre and so on, he notes.
